Audience segmentation based on push notification categories allows you to personalize communications and improve user engagement. In this tutorial, you will discover how to create and use categories for your web push notification campaigns on the Pushloop platform.
Step 1: Access to the Platform
- Access the Pushloop platform.
- Go to the menu in the left bar and click on the “Manage Site” item.
- In this area, select the site for which you wish to manage notifications and click on the “Pushes” button.
Step 2: Create a New Push Notification
Start the process of creating a new notification by selecting “Create New Push.”
The “Send New Push” page will open. Fill in the necessary fields to customize your notification.
Step 3: Configure Categories
On the same page, access the “Advanced Options” tab.
Here, you will be able to select the topic (category) of the push you are creating. Choose a category that adequately represents the content of your notification.
This allows you to better organize your campaigns and target your audience more effectively.
Step 4: Audience Segmentation
After sending several notifications, based on past interactions, you can create dedicated audiences for each category and begin to segment your audience by interests.
Use the “Audience” option to select the specific audience to which future notifications should be sent. Be sure to tag each notification with a relevant topic to group users into the most appropriate audience.
Step 5: Additional Targeting Options
For even more detailed segmentation, open the “Advanced Target Options” tab.
Here, you have the option to send the notification only to specific devices (e.g., mobile, desktop), operating systems (Android, Linux, Mac) or browsers (Chrome, Handheld Browser).

Congratulations! Now you know how to effectively segment your audience using categories in your web push notification campaigns. You are ready to send your push.
